Conflict Free Diamonds
Conflict-Free Diamonds - Our Guarantee
Miro Jewelers understands that customers want to know where their diamonds come from. Every diamond we sell is certified to be conflict-free in compliance with the Patriot Act, and the Kimberley Process. We only work with suppliers that guarantee the diamonds they offer are certified conflict free and members of the professional diamond trade.
Kimberley Process Compliance
The Kimberley Process (KP) is an international, multi-stakeholder initiative created to increase transparency and oversight in the diamond industry in order to eliminate trade in conflict diamonds, or rough diamonds. The KP, which became operational in 2003, controls trade in rough diamonds between participating countries through domestic implementation of a certification scheme that makes the trade more transparent and secure; and prohibits trade with non-participants. Polished diamonds sold in the U.S. must adhere to the Patriot Act and sanctions by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Every U.S. dealer must maintain Kimberley compliance or be subject to penalties from Homeland Security, the U.S. Justice Department, and the U.S. Treasury.
